38 weeks – Full Term

IMG_0277

38 weeks – 07/16/13

Yes, full term is 37 weeks – but I’m a slacker who forgets to take her picture every week.  I always think to myself “maybe Brett can take it when he gets home” and that never happens so I’ve done it using the auto timer.

How far along?: 38 weeks
Due Date: July 30, 2013
Baby is the size of an?: Pumpkin (small one I hope) – or a leek (idk if I’ve ever seen a leek)
Maternity Clothes: why bother?
Baby Purchases: I bought the last thing on the list – a nursing cover.
Sleep: Not as great as before – and not because of the tummy or that I’m uncomfortable – I’m just wide awake.  Can’t stop the brain.  I also wake up when the hubby does at 4:30 but I have the luxury of taking a nap during the day if I need it.
Symptoms: TMI but I swear I have to pee the minute I leave the bathroom.  I should just live there.
Miss Anything?: chocolate
Movement: he’s moving a lot – that or he’s just out of room so his movements are super noticeable.  He still moves the most at night…super ninja.
Food cravings: gingerbread cookies…which I can’t have yet.
Mood: Excited and slightly impatient.
Rings: Wearing a larger ring
Belly Button: out
Gender:  Baby BOY!!
Pregnancy Workout: absolutely nothing – anytime I walk I just have to pee more :).  The extent of my working out involves cleaning or grocery shopping.
Pregnancy Pet Peeve: “Whoa” – seriously I’ve heard this as I step out of the car or walk in a store – I’m not that big so hush!!.  When I was shopping for my nursing cover I had this lady stop me to tell me that I was absolutely beautiful!  That’s what people should say to prego peeps!  I even appreciated the little girl who pointed and whispered to her mom “look at that lady’s belly button”
Pregnancy Updates: No news – he’s still head down, appropriately sized (which apparently is an accomplishment for someone with gestational diabeties), so we are just chillin’
Best Moment this Week: I’m officially done with all projects I wanted to finish pre-baby so now we are ready for Little B
Looking forward to: Duh! Holding our baby boy!
BabyCenter Update: Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and is over 19 1/2 inches long (about the size of a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. Wondering what color your baby’s eyes will be? If she’s born with brown eyes, they’ll likely stay brown. If she’s born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she’s 9 months old.

Car seat is installed – it couldn’t go in the middle in my car because of the seat construction but Little B will be all set behind the passenger seat.

and the highchair is ready – I know won’t need it for a while but it’s so cute. Looks a lot better as decoration than it did just sitting in the box

Life Updates

Wow – I cannot believe it’s been six months since we last posted.  Such bad bloggers!  But we’ve both had tons of life changes recently which have impacted our blogging abilities.  As you probably know Jac had a beautiful baby girl in September, so she’s pretty busy taking care of Care Bear.  And I’m due with my Little Dude in two short weeks!!  So we have both been quite busy with baby related things.

Also our hubbies matched at their residency programs

486422_486806681367116_1210033610_nand graduated from medical school.

Jaclyn & Scott matched at UVA so they moved into a wonderful house and now continuing their adventures in Charlottesville.

Brett & I got a residency at UNC in Chapel Hill, NC.  In May, we moved into our wonderful house in Durham, NC which I absolutely love.

So now we are going to try to start blogging again!  It’s going to be sporadic but I’ve done a lot of baby crafts so I am going to try to line up a lot of posts before Baby Boy shows up!  Also due to the nature of our lives, our blog might revolve more around baby items than it has previously.

Talk to y’all soon!
